Statistics in Canada indicate that a high percent of the population suffers sexual abuse in their lifetime. Some state the odds are as high as 1 in 4 females and 1 in 6 males, with only a small percentage being reported. Statistics also indicate that most never have the opportunity or courage to speak about it, for a variety of reasons. This means that a minimum of one quarter of the people on this planet will ‘get’ my story, and identify with some aspect of it, and most carry their pain in secret. I have written this book to create awareness, but more than that I have written it to give voice to our collective pain, and offer hope to the hurting. I believe in the message of this book… I believe in the need for this book… And I’m asking you to help me spread the word… because someone out there is hopeless, lonely and trying to find just one reason to keep breathing. I hit that place, when I felt I couldn’t keep going, and I write about it, and about the Hope that gave my life meaning. My hope is that my transparency will give them that same reason to take their next breath…
